ABOUT
Born into a creative family in Colorado, Jody’s artistic talent was evident from a young age and nurtured through her innate curiosity and imagination. She pursued formal training in Studio Art at the University of Colorado at Boulder where her distinctive style began to take shape and from which she graduated with a degree in Fine Arts.
An animal lover at heart, Jody initially focused on pet portraits and quickly gained recognition for her ability to capture each subject's unique personality on canvas. Her work soon led to a waitlist for commissions. In recent years, she has expanded her focus to include contemporary abstract art, uncovering a deep passion and skill for this dynamic genre. Her evolving work reflects a lifelong love for the interplay of color and texture.
Jody currently resides in Austin, Texas, where she lives, works, and creates alongside her supportive husband, two children, and a pair of Labrador retrievers. She continues to accept a limited number of pet portrait commissions and recently released The Vibrant Collection, her latest series of contemporary abstracts, in the spring of 2021. New abstracts coming in 2025!
